📍 Oldtown, Idaho

Oldtown is a small community in Bonner County, Idaho, located along the Pend Oreille River near the Washington state line. The town was originally associated with the Newport area before being incorporated as Oldtown in 1947, and its location makes it closely connected to both northern Idaho and eastern Washington.

The city remains a compact riverside community, with a population that has historically been only a few hundred residents. Its position near U.S. Route 2 makes it accessible by road from nearby towns and regional cities, while rail travelers can use regional Amtrak service to reach nearby stations and continue by road.

By car, Oldtown is reached mainly through U.S. Route 2, with connections from Spokane, Sandpoint, and other northern Idaho routes. By train, the closest practical option is to travel to a nearby regional rail stop and complete the journey by car, taxi, or local transport depending on availability.
