Sterling Renaissance Festival 2026

Sterling Renaissance Festival 2026 will take place from July 4 to August 16, 2026, at Alaska State Fairgrounds in Sterling, New York, bringing together more than 100 stage and street performers, artisan demonstrations, themed weekends, jousting, comedy, music, food, pub sing-alongs, and interactive Renaissance entertainment.
This long-running Renaissance celebration recreates an English village filled with professional actors, comedians, musicians, street performers, royalty, wenches, trials, dunks, games, and artisan craft displays. Visitors can explore a lively setting inspired by Warwickshire, watch performers throughout the lanes and stages, and enjoy a rotating calendar of weekend themes across the season.

⚔️ Entertainment and Experiences
The festival features a full Renaissance village atmosphere with over 100 stage and street performances, including comedy, daredevil acts, jousting, swordsmen, royalty, pub sings, games, trials, dunks, and interactive entertainment throughout the site.
Artisan demonstrations are also part of the experience, with dozens of craftspeople showing their work and offering unique wares for sale. Food is another major attraction, with savory festival favorites such as steak-on-a-stake, pita pockets, turkey legs, portabella mushroom sandwiches, mile-high cakes, and more.
Themed weekends create a different atmosphere each time, giving returning visitors a new experience across the season.

Family Appreciation Weekend — July 4 & 5
The season opens with Family Appreciation Weekend, welcoming guests back for the 2026 edition. Visitors can get one free child’s ticket for every regular adult-priced ticket purchased.
This weekend includes stage and street performances, comedy, daredevils, jousting, swordsmen, royalty, wenches, trials, dunks, pub sings, games, and more. The special opening weekend price is only available at the gate.
Romance Weekend — July 11 & 12
Romance Weekend includes a Renewal of Vows Ceremony at the Chapel, offering couples the chance to celebrate their love during the festival.
Reservations are required, and tickets for this activity must be checked through the festival website page.
Ale Fest Weekend — July 18 & 19
Ale Fest Weekend celebrates one of the oldest beverages in human history with a selection of imported and domestic brews on tap.
Guests can take part in the day’s festivities and sample ales and beers while enjoying the festival atmosphere. Responsible drinking is encouraged.
Pirate Invasion Weekend — July 25 & 26
Pirates return to invade the Shire with swashbuckling adventure, comedy, song, and playful mischief.
The weekend includes a Pirate Costume Competition for children and adults, the Snickleway Pub’s Tavern Pirate Revel, roaming pirate bands, sea shanties, grog, and a lively atmosphere filled with pirate-themed entertainment. Guests may even risk being captured for ransom, pressed into service on a pirate cruise, or caught up in a pirate auction.
Highland Fling Weekend — August 1 & 2
Highland Fling Weekend celebrates Scottish culture with bagpipes, kilts, pipe bands, highland dancing, Celtic music, and athletic demonstrations.
Visitors can enjoy performances on stages and throughout the lanes, along with Scottish athletic competitions and demonstrations such as the Caber Toss and Stone Put. Pub Sing and Celtic jams add to the Highland spirit of the weekend.
Fantasy, Fairies & the Future Weekend — August 8 & 9
Fantasy, Fairies & the Future Weekend invites guests to celebrate myth, legend, imagination, and dreams of other worlds.
Sprites, fairies, barbarians, mythic creatures, time travelers, and fantasy visitors are welcome throughout the shire. The weekend includes an Adult Costume Exhibition, where fantasy travelers can display their favorite outfits for fun and prizes.
Grand Finale Weekend — August 15 & 16
The season closes with Grand Finale Weekend, a final celebration of the festival’s pageantry, entertainment, and Renaissance atmosphere.
This last weekend brings together the richness, fun, and spectacle that define Sterling Renaissance Festival before the 2026 season comes to an end.
