Viking Festival 2025
Prepare your shields and drinking horns — the Viking Festival 2025 is returning to Heavener Runestone Park in Heavener, Oklahoma, on October 25–26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. This two-day celebration invites visitors to experience life as a Viking — complete with warriors, artisans, ancient runes, and the legendary spirit of Norse adventure.

At the Heavener Viking Festival, history comes alive. Guests wander through encampments filled with actors dressed as Vikings and shieldmaidens, all bringing the past to life through interactive storytelling and live combat demonstrations. The event’s atmosphere is charged with the sound of folk and Viking-style music, the smell of roasted meats, and the sight of artisans at work crafting metalwork, leather goods, wood carvings, and jewelry — each piece echoing Old Norse craftsmanship.

Nestled in the scenic hills of southeastern Oklahoma, Heavener Runestone Park spans 55 acres of natural beauty and mystery. Once a state park, it’s now lovingly managed by Friends of Heavener Runestone, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving its unique heritage.
At the heart of the park lies the Heavener Runestone, a massive sandstone slab inscribed with ancient runes that some believe were carved by Viking explorers. It’s the perfect backdrop for the festival — blending myth, history, and nature into one magical setting. Visitors can hike the trails, camp overnight, and sleep under the stars in true Norse fashion.
