Step into a world of fantasy, cloaks, and castles this winter at CastleFaire 2026, a unique Renaissance-style festival held at the majestic Uhuburg Castle in Helen, Georgia. From Friday to Sunday, January 16–18, the castle opens its gates for a weekend of medieval magic, music, and merriment—rain or shine.
🏰 What is CastleFaire?
CastleFaire isn’t just another Ren Fest—it’s a winter Renaissance celebration, blending the mystery of the Middle Ages with the chill of January. Guests are encouraged to come cloaked and costumed, ready to wander the castle grounds and explore a blend of indoor and outdoor attractions.

🛡️ Weapons policy: No real firearms; only sheathed, period-appropriate costume weapons are allowed (foam OK, crossbows must be non-functional, no off-area fighting).
♿ Accessibility: While much of the castle is accessible, note that the terrain is uneven. The Great Hall includes ADA-compliant facilities, and there’s limited accessible parking.
🚌 Getting There: Most parking is off-site, but shuttles are provided to ferry ticket holders to and from the event grounds.

Located in northeast Georgia, Helen is a quirky Alpine-style town known for its cobblestone charm, mountainous landscapes, and Bavarian-inspired architecture. Once a logging town, Helen reinvented itself in the 1960s into a tourist haven now home to just under 600 residents.
