Cascadia Renaissance Faire 2026 will take place September 5–6 at Cowlitz River Rentals in Randle, Washington, bringing together the atmosphere of a Renaissance faire with Celtic and Scottish Highland traditions. Cascadia Renaissance Faire describes itself as “A Highland Event,” combining elements familiar from Renaissance and fantasy festivals with Celtic heritage and Scottish Highland culture.

Rather than focusing exclusively on one historical period, the event brings together music, dance, living history, combat demonstrations, costumed characters, fantasy elements and Celtic traditions. 🌙 Cascadia After Dark

🏞 Cowlitz River Festival Grounds

The faire occupies a private riverside property along the Cowlitz River, immediately off U.S. Route 12 west of Randle.

The site combines open fields with wooded sections and broad river flats. Its size allows the organizers to accommodate the Renaissance village, performance areas, guild encampments, marketplace, parking and overnight camping on the same property.

📜 Visitor Policies

Guests may bring bags, baskets and backpacks into the festival. Clear bags are not required, although security personnel may inspect bags at the entrance.

Water: Personal water bottles are permitted, and free water refills are available.

Outside food: Food required for medical or dietary needs and baby food or formula are permitted.

Alcohol and glass containers: Outside alcohol and glass containers are prohibited, apart from baby food jars.

Weapons: Functional firearms, concealed firearms, projectile weapons, explosives and realistic firearms capable of being mistaken for genuine weapons are prohibited. Costume weapons are permitted only when they comply with the faire’s safety rules.

Costumes: Historical accuracy is not mandatory. Renaissance, Celtic, Highland and fantasy costumes are welcome, provided they comply with the event’s conduct and safety requirements.

📍 About Randle

Randle is a small unincorporated community in eastern Lewis County, located along the Cowlitz River and U.S. Route 12 between Morton and Packwood.

European-American settlement developed in the Big Bottom Valley during the late nineteenth century. An application for a post office was submitted in 1889 by pioneer James Randles; the community ultimately received the name Randle, without the final “s.” Commerce, agriculture and logging later became central to the local economy.

The surrounding valley was historically associated with timber production, farming and dairying. Road access improved during the early twentieth century, while the opening of the highway across White Pass in 1951 strengthened connections between western and central Washington.

Today the area serves as a gateway to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Mount St. Helens country and other recreational areas of the southern Cascades.

Randle is not an incorporated city or a separately defined Census place, so there is no official municipal population figure comparable with those issued for incorporated Washington communities. 🚗 How to Get to Randle

By Road

Randle is directly on U.S. Route 12, the principal highway crossing this section of the southern Cascade Range.

From western Washington, visitors can reach U.S. 12 from Interstate 5 near Chehalis and continue east through Morton to Randle.

Travelers arriving from central Washington can follow U.S. 12 west across White Pass through Packwood.

The festival entrance is positioned at approximately milepost 114.5, immediately west of the community.

Lewis County Transit / L.E.W.I.S. Mountain Highway Transit serves the U.S. 12 corridor through Randle, with stops in the community and connections toward Morton and Centralia.

From Centralia, travelers can connect with regional rail and bus networks serving Tacoma, Seattle and Portland.
