Realms Unknown 2026 will take place September 18–20 at Lewis River Golf, Woodland, Washington. This three-day, all-genre fantasy festival combines live jousting and combat, fantasy characters, music and theatrical performances, artisan merchants, interactive experiences, food and drink, and on-site camping across approximately 50 acres.

Realms Unknown is designed as an immersive fantasy gathering rather than a festival devoted to a single historical period. 🎭 Interactive experiences and family activities

The festival includes interactive performances, quests and direct encounters with costumed characters throughout the grounds. These elements allow visitors to move beyond watching stage shows and participate in the fictional world created for the weekend.

Families will find storytelling, crafts, games and activities suitable for younger visitors. A dedicated Toddle Town area provides a space specifically intended for families with small children.

Costumes are encouraged but are not required. Guests may dress as medieval, Renaissance, fantasy, pirate or other imaginative characters. Costume weapons must comply with festival rules and must remain peace-tied; operational weapons and firearms are prohibited.

⛺ Camping at Realms Unknown

Camping allows visitors to remain at the festival site throughout the three-day event. Tent and RV spaces are available, and every camper must also hold a valid festival admission pass.

Camping arrangements include:

• Portable restrooms in camping areas
• Dry camping with no water hookups
• No electrical hookups
• No open or wood fires

🏰 Lewis River Golf

Realms Unknown is held on the grounds of Lewis River Golf, where approximately 50 acres provide enough space for the festival’s themed areas, stages, merchant booths, camping sections and performance zones.

The open grounds allow different fantasy settings to operate within the same site while providing room for large-scale attractions such as combat demonstrations and jousting.

🅿️ Parking: Festival parking is provided in the lot and field across the road from the main entrance. Attendee parking is not permitted along the surrounding streets or at the main golf clubhouse.

A festival shuttle system connects parking, the main entrance, camping areas and different sections of the event grounds.

📍 Woodland, Washington

Woodland is a small city in southwestern Washington, situated near the Lewis and Columbia river region and approximately 20 miles north of Vancouver. It lies partly in Cowlitz County and Clark County and serves as one of the main gateways toward Mount St. Helens and the recreational areas surrounding the Lewis River.

Settlement in the surrounding area dates to the nineteenth century. A.W. Scott platted Woodland in 1889, and the community was formally incorporated on March 26, 1906. Before reliable highways developed, steamboats played an important role in transportation along the waterways of southwestern Washington.

The city has grown considerably in recent decades. The 2020 U.S. Census recorded 6,531 residents, while the U.S. Census Bureau estimated the population at approximately 6,611 in 2025.

Woodland is also known for the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens and for Planters Days, a long-running local celebration connected with the area’s community traditions.

🚗 How to get to Woodland

By road

Woodland is directly accessible from Interstate 5, the principal north-south highway through western Washington and Oregon. The city is also located at the junction with State Route 503, which provides access toward the Lewis River valley and communities east of Woodland.

Travelers arriving from Portland or Vancouver can follow I-5 north. Visitors coming from Seattle, Tacoma or other cities to the north can use I-5 south.

By train

Woodland does not have its own Amtrak station. The nearest practical rail connection is Kelso-Longview Station, approximately 20 miles north of the city.

Kelso-Longview is served by Amtrak Cascades and the Coast Starlight, providing rail connections with cities including Portland, Tacoma and Seattle.

Travelers arriving by train must continue from the Kelso-Longview area to Woodland by road transportation.

By bus

RiverCities Transit Route 511 connects Longview and Vancouver on weekdays, with a stop in Woodland near Pacific Avenue and Columbia Street. Connections can be made with the wider transit network in Vancouver.

However, Route 511 does not operate on Saturdays or Sundays, so festival visitors relying on public transportation should plan alternative transportation for the weekend.
